Community Guidelines

Effective Date: [Date]  ·  Last Updated: [Date]

These Community Guidelines are the practical rulebook of KYNK. They explain what respectful, responsible participation looks like across every feature of the platform. They are written for you, as a member of this community, and with the expectation that you will read, understand, and uphold them.

1 Introduction

1.1 Welcome to KYNK

KYNK exists because consenting adults deserve a space that was built for them — one that takes their identities, interests, and autonomy seriously, and that prioritises their safety without treating them as a problem to be managed.

These Community Guidelines are not a legal document. They are a community document — specific, readable, and designed to give you enough clarity to understand what is expected before a question ever arises. Where the Terms of Service establishes the legal framework, these Guidelines answer a different question: what does following the rules actually look like in practice, across every feature of this platform?

1.2 Why KYNK Needs Its Own Community Guidelines

General-purpose content policies were not written for a platform like this one. KYNK is a consent-first ecosystem for adults exploring kink, BDSM, power exchange dynamics, and alternative lifestyles. These Guidelines are written from a position of genuine respect for that community. They acknowledge that:

  • Power exchange dynamics — Dominant/submissive relationships, BDSM practices, and other forms of negotiated kink — are consensual, legitimate, and central to this platform's purpose
  • Explicit content, frank discussion of sexuality, and community knowledge-sharing are not problems to be managed. They are the point.
  • Consent in this community is often explicitly and carefully negotiated — and these Guidelines are designed to support that culture
  • Privacy matters here in ways it may not elsewhere. Many members have not disclosed their interests or lifestyle outside this platform. Protecting that is a shared responsibility.

1.3 Who These Guidelines Apply To

These Guidelines apply to all registered users, Group Moderators, Event Organisers, and Vendors — across all conduct on the KYNK platform, in private messages between users, and at offline events, meetings, and interactions that arise from connections made on KYNK. The fact that an interaction has moved off-platform does not remove KYNK's ability to act.

1.4 How to Report a Violation

Every profile, post, message, event listing, and Shop listing on KYNK carries an in-app reporting function. Use it. For urgent matters — anything involving minors, non-consensual intimate imagery, credible threats, or exploitation — contact KYNK's safety team directly:

  • Urgent safety matters: [safety@kynk.com]
  • General support and non-urgent reports: [support@kynk.com]

The identity of the person making a report is protected. Reports must be made in good faith — submitting false or malicious reports is itself a violation of these Guidelines.

2 The Consent-First Foundation

Every part of these Guidelines flows from a single principle: consent is the foundation of every interaction on this platform.

Consent on KYNK means consent that is:

  • Explicit — clearly communicated, not assumed or inferred from silence
  • Informed — given with an accurate understanding of what is being agreed to
  • Specific — to the particular interaction, content, or activity in question
  • Ongoing — capable of being withdrawn at any time, for any reason, without consequence
  • Freely given — without pressure, manipulation, coercion, or exploitation

No dynamic, no role, no prior agreement, and no history between users overrides another person's right to withdraw consent and have that withdrawal respected immediately. This applies on the platform. It applies in private messages. And it applies at offline meetings and events that arise from connections made on KYNK.

3 Your Profile and Identity

Your profile is your identity on KYNK. The following rules apply:

  • All information in your profile must be truthful, accurate, and not misleading
  • Your profile image must be a genuine likeness of you — not someone else, a stock photo, or an AI-generated image
  • You may not impersonate any real person, including other KYNK members, public figures, or KYNK staff
  • You may not include another person's contact details, phone numbers, or physical addresses in publicly visible profile fields
  • You may not use your profile to advertise commercial services, solicit clients, or promote unrelated businesses

You are encouraged to express your kink identity, preferred dynamics, relationship structures, and community affiliations in your profile. KYNK provides the space for authentic self-expression — use it honestly.

4 The Feed and Content Sharing

The Feed is KYNK's social content stream. It is a space for authentic community expression — not a commercial advertising channel.

What Is Permitted on the Feed

  • Personal posts, experiences, reflections, and community discussion
  • Educational content about kink, BDSM, consent, safety practices, and alternative lifestyles
  • Explicit adult content, subject to the content standards set out in Section 10 and the Explicit Content Policy in the Terms of Service
  • Artistic and creative content of an adult nature, where it involves only consenting adults and meets the content standards

What Is Not Permitted on the Feed

  • Content that violates any of the Absolute Prohibitions in Section 10
  • Harassment, hate speech, or content targeting any user with hostile or degrading material
  • Unsolicited commercial advertising or promotional content
  • Content depicting or identifying another person without their explicit consent
  • Spam — posting the same content more than three times within a 24-hour period
  • Content designed to deceive, manipulate, or create false impressions

Content Involving Others

If your content depicts, identifies, or could identify another person, you must have that person's explicit prior consent before posting. This applies with particular force to intimate, sexual, or explicit content featuring another person. The sharing of intimate images without consent is a serious criminal offence in many jurisdictions and will result in immediate permanent account termination.

5 Messaging and Direct Communication

KYNK's messaging feature is a tool for genuine, consensual connection. The following rules apply to all messages sent through the platform:

  • No unsolicited explicit content — never send explicit, sexual, or graphic content to someone who has not explicitly requested or consented to receive it
  • No persistent unwanted contact — if someone does not respond, asks you to stop, or blocks you, stop immediately
  • No threats or coercion — never use messaging to threaten, blackmail, extort, or intimidate any user
  • No commercial solicitation — no unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, or commercial offers
  • No spam or bulk messaging — no mass messages or automated sending tools
  • No solicitation of money — never request financial transfers, gifts, loans, or any item of financial value from other users
  • Honesty — be truthful about your identity, intentions, and circumstances in all communications

The content of private conversations is personal and confidential. You must not share, publish, screenshot, or reproduce private conversation content outside the platform without the explicit written consent of all parties.

6 Playground — Connections and Dating

Playground is KYNK's dating and connection feature. It operates on a consent-first basis at every stage of an interaction. The following rules apply:

Your Playground Profile

  • All information in your Playground profile must be truthful, accurate, and not misleading
  • All images must be genuine photographs of you — no images of other people, stock photos, or AI-generated images
  • You must not describe yourself or your intentions in ways designed to attract connections under false pretences

Interacting With Others

  • Approach all potential connections with courtesy, honesty, and respect
  • Accept rejection without retaliation, harassment, or repeated unwanted contact
  • Do not pressure or rush another user into escalating an interaction more quickly than they are comfortable with
  • Do not use Playground to solicit clients for commercial services, to advertise products, or to arrange the exchange of sexual services for compensation
  • Do not solicit money or items of financial value from connections

Dynamics and Power Exchange

KYNK recognises that the kink and alternative lifestyle community engages in consensual power exchange dynamics. All expressions of power exchange on the platform must be fully consensual and involve only verified adult users who have freely chosen to engage. A power exchange dynamic does not suspend, override, or diminish any user's right to withdraw consent.

Meeting in Person

KYNK strongly recommends the following when meeting a Playground connection in person for the first time: arrange your first meeting in a public place; inform a trusted person of your plans; ensure you have your own independent means of transport; and negotiate explicit agreements about activities, limits, and safety protocols before engaging in kink activities. Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, it is always appropriate to leave.

7 Groups and Community Spaces

Groups are community discussion and participation spaces organised around shared interests, practices, identities, and topics. All platform-wide conduct rules apply in full within every Group.

Participating in Groups

  • Contribute constructively and relevantly to the Group's stated purpose
  • Treat all other members with respect and dignity
  • Follow Group-specific rules established by moderators, where they are consistent with these Guidelines
  • Respect moderation decisions

Group Moderators

Group moderators are community members who voluntarily manage specific Groups. They are not employees or agents of KYNK. Moderators may establish Group-specific rules, approve or decline membership, remove content, and remove members for violations — but may not act on behalf of KYNK, accept compensation for moderation, or use moderation powers to pursue personal disputes.

Sensitive Topics in Groups

Groups may discuss sensitive, personal, and potentially vulnerable topics. Moderators are encouraged to maintain a supportive, non-judgmental environment and to signpost safety resources where appropriate. Where content suggests a member may be in crisis or in immediate danger, moderators must escalate to KYNK immediately at [safety@kynk.com].

8 Events

The Events feature allows community members to discover and list gatherings, workshops, meetups, and other events. KYNK is not the organiser of events listed by third-party organisers.

For Event Organisers

  • All events listed on KYNK must be strictly adult-only — open only to persons who meet KYNK's minimum age requirement of 21+
  • Event listings must contain accurate and complete information about the event
  • Events must be operated in accordance with KYNK's consent-first values
  • Organisers must comply with all applicable laws and obtain all required licences and permits
  • Organisers are solely responsible for the safety of their attendees

For Attendees

  • You are responsible for your own safety and for decisions you make about attending events
  • Apply the personal safety practices recommended in Section 6 when attending events
  • Comply with the rules, consent standards, and safety protocols established by the Event Organiser

9 The Shop

The Shop is KYNK's marketplace for lifestyle-related products. It is built on the same consent-first, safety-focused values that govern every other feature of the platform.

For Vendors

  • All products must be legal, safe, relevant to the adult lifestyle community, and intended for adult use only
  • All product listings must be accurate, complete, and not misleading
  • Products must not violate any of the Absolute Prohibitions in Section 10
  • Vendors must handle buyer data with care and in accordance with all applicable data protection laws
  • Vendors must honour their stated refund and returns policies

For Buyers

  • Purchases are for personal use only — not for commercial resale
  • You are responsible for ensuring you are legally permitted to purchase and possess products you order
  • All refund and return requests should be directed to the vendor in the first instance

10 Absolute Prohibitions

The following conduct results in immediate, permanent termination of your account and referral to law enforcement, with no warning, no grace period, and no right of appeal. No context, artistic framing, claimed educational purpose, or community standing changes the outcome.

  • Any content involving minors sexually or inappropriately — in any form whatsoever, including written, illustrated, or AI-generated content. This is KYNK's most absolute prohibition.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery — sharing intimate or sexual content of another person without their explicit, informed, and ongoing consent (including "revenge pornography")
  • Human trafficking and exploitation content — any content that facilitates, promotes, recruits for, or enables human trafficking, sex trafficking, or any form of modern slavery
  • Credible and serious threats of violence — explicit or implied threats of physical harm directed at any person
  • False, forged, or fraudulent identity verification — submitting altered, fabricated, or someone else's identity documentation

Additionally, the following content is never permitted on the platform under any circumstances:

  • Content that sexualises, glorifies, or fantasises about zoophilia or necrophilia
  • Content that facilitates or promotes escort services or commercial sex work solicitation
  • Malware, viruses, or any code designed to harm users or the platform
  • Content that is illegal under applicable law in your jurisdiction

11 Enforcement and Reporting

Violations of these Community Guidelines are enforced under the graduated enforcement framework set out in Section 18 of the Terms of Service. The six levels of enforcement action are:

  • Level 1 — Warning — for first-time, minor, or inadvertent violations where no significant harm has resulted
  • Level 2 — Content Removal — removal of specific content that violates these Guidelines
  • Level 3 — Feature Restriction — temporary restriction of access to one or more specific platform features
  • Level 4 — Temporary Suspension — full suspension of the account for a defined period
  • Level 5 — Permanent Termination — irreversible removal of all access to the platform
  • Level 6 — Law Enforcement Referral — referral to relevant authorities for verifiable criminal activity

You have the right to appeal enforcement decisions (except those involving the Absolute Prohibitions in Section 10) by contacting [appeals@kynk.com] within 30 days of the decision being communicated to you.

How to Report

Use the in-app report function available on all profiles, posts, messages, and listings. For urgent safety matters contact [safety@kynk.com]. For non-urgent concerns contact [support@kynk.com].

12 Shared Responsibility

KYNK's moderation team works to identify and address violations — but no platform can do this alone, and this community should not rely on it to. Every member of KYNK shares responsibility for the standards of this community.

If you witness a violation of these Guidelines, you are expected to report it. You are not required to confront another user directly. Reporting is the appropriate response — and doing so is itself an act of community care.

Deliberately ignoring serious violations — particularly those involving minors, non-consensual content, exploitation, or threats of harm — is not a neutral act.

By accepting these Terms, you commit not only to upholding the consent-first standard in your own interactions but to supporting it in the community as a whole — by reporting violations, treating others with respect, and contributing to a culture where everyone's boundaries are taken seriously.
